IN WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP

Washington Twp., MI…After more than six months of anticipation, planning and hard work, all the finishing touches have been applied to the brand new, state-of-the-art Serra Kia dealership located at M-53 and 30-Mile Road and now the doors are officially open.

“It’s a beautiful building,” said Dave Fischer, Serra Kia Store Manager. “We’ve been moving cars into the showroom the past couple weeks and people have been stopping by to shop and have a look around. It really is an exciting time for everyone at Serra and the entire community!”

The 8,000 square-foot Kia facility is part of an automotive complex that includes Serra Buick-GMC and Serra Cadillac.

“It’s all about convenience and serving our customers,” says Randy Jackson, General Manager of all three dealerships. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer such a wide variety of outstanding vehicles at one easy-to-get-to location.”

The Serra Kia franchise opened on-site in January of 2011 and has been operating in a temporary building.

According to Jackson, an official grand opening for the new building will be scheduled for late April or early May, but in the meantime Serra Kia is up and running at full-speed in the new building, offering an incredible selection of new and used vehicles as well as top-notch service.

Starting Monday, January 30, Al Serra Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram will open at 8am for sales, parts and full service at Serra Automotive’s flagship location, the Al Serra Auto Plaza, located on South Saginaw in Grand Blanc.

“This is great news for our customers and all of Genesee County,” said Joe Serra, President of Serra Automotive. “With the addition of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram, the Al Serra Auto Plaza literally will be a convenient one-stop shop for car buyers.”

Al Serra Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram will move into the building formerly housing Al Serra Cadillac, right in the heart of the Auto Plaza between Al Serra Chevrolet and Al Serra Buick-GMC.

“It’s the perfect location,” says Serra. “We’ll start construction in late March or early April to add a state-of-the-art service and parts department to the facility and, at the same time, we’ll also build a brand-new dedicated Cadillac showroom between our Buick-GMC and Kia stores.”

The schedule calls for both construction projects to be completed by the end of 2012. Until then the Cadillac franchise will operate out of the Al Serra Buick-GMC dealership.

(Southfield, MI) When a new facility opens, there’s always a buzz of excitement. But the opening of the new Serra Chevrolet dealership, on Telegraph north of
I-696, is generating a lot more energy and anticipation than usual…and with good reason.

That’s because the new, state-of-the-art facility is generating its own power!

“People will love all the customer conveniences built in to our new dealership,” says Serra Chevrolet General Manager Greg Brown. “We have a beautiful, huge indoor showroom, a massive 29-bay service area, customer-friendly lounges with free Wi-Fi and on top of all that, we’re using the latest green technology to generate energy.”

The newly-constructed Serra Chevrolet dealership features a Chevrolet Green Zone Solar Canopy, a cutting-edge charging station which will generate clean, green electricity to power the Volt and other General Motors electric vehicles in development, as well as two VP-20 Wind Turbines manufactured by Renewegy of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

According to Brown, the solar and wind power produced by the dealership will help reduce the facility’s overall carbon footprint as well as reduce operating costs.

“Once our Green Zone Solar Canopy is approved for use, we’ll make it available to our customers and the community for their personal vehicles free of charge,” says Brown. “And the turbines serve a double purpose: they generate clean, renewable energy, plus the 17-foot rotors on top of 100-foot high poles make a great landmark for locating our dealership!”

For the past 21 months, Serra Chevrolet has been doing business out of the former Saturn of Southfield facility on Telegraph, just south of 13 Mile. Moving a half-mile south on Telegraph just north of I-696 provides the dealership with better visibility and much more room to grow.

“Business has been great and we’ve been bursting at the seams for some time now,” says Brown. “We want to thank our customers for putting up with the cramped conditions and invite everyone to tour our new place to discover how enjoyable and exciting car shopping can be.”

The striking 36,711 square foot facility was designed by Nudell Architects in Farmington, Hills and took a little more than a year in the construction phase. There is enough area at the 9-acre site to stock over a thousand vehicles on the ground.

“We’re all about selection. If we haven’t got it, it doesn’t exist,” smiles Brown. “Plus we’ll continue to offer our $12.95 full service oil change and we’re still
the area’s GM Authorized Dealer for Parts and Service for Saturn as well as for Chevrolet.”

Grand Blanc, MI…The sun will come out tomorrow, and when it does the Al Serra Chevrolet Green Zone Solar Canopy will be generating clean, green electricity to power the exciting new Chevy Volt.

The Al Serra Auto Plaza announced today that the construction of a cutting-edge solar-powered charging station has been completed and is ready to be put into use. In 2011, more than 500 Green Zone installations are planned for Chevrolet dealerships across North America, with Al Serra Chevrolet being the first in the nation. A second Green Zone installation is currently underway in California.

The state-of-the-art system was designed and developed especially for General Motors by Sunlogics, a global leader in solar technology.

“You hear the phrase ‘win-win’ almost on a daily basis,” says Joe Serra, President of Serra Automotive. “This happens to be a win-win-win opportunity. It’s a win for Al Serra Chevrolet because the electricity generated from the Green Zone will help reduce operating costs.

“It’s a win for the environment because producing solar power will help reduce our overall carbon footprint.

“And, it’s a win for our customers because they have an opportunity to reduce the amount they spend on gas dramatically by driving one of the most dynamic vehicles to come off the assembly line in decades, the Chevrolet Volt. According to information released by Sunlogics, a 12-space, Green Zone 20kW canopy will produce up to 36,000 kW hours per year and has the capacity to charge the Volt car approximately 4,500 times.

“In addition to its main purpose as a charging station, we’ll be able to use the Green Zone as a delivery and staging area as well,” said Serra. “It’s the perfect environment to showcase the 2011 Motor Trend Car of the Year!”

SERRA CHEVROLET OPENS IN SOUTHFIELD

(Southfield, MI)  Here’s great news for area car buyers:  Chevrolet is back in Southfield. Serra Chevrolet opened its doors at the end of March and customers visiting their lot this month can expect to find it filled with the complete line-up of vehicles from General Motors’ top-selling brand.

The new Chevrolet store is located in the former Saturn of Southfield facility on Telegraph Road, just north of 12 Mile.

“Our location is great,” says Serra Chevrolet General Manager Greg Brown. “Saturn of Southfield was consistently one of the top Saturn dealerships in the nation. We moved some walls, made some renovations and now we’re excited about working to become one of the top Chevrolet dealerships in the country.”

According to Brown, new car customers have started noticing Chevrolet banners in front of his store; but he is especially pleased that his service department has kept busy primarily because they are the area’s GM Authorized Dealer for Parts and Service for Saturn as well as for Chevrolet.

Grand Blanc, MI…Buick Motor Division announced today that Al Serra Buick, which is part of the Al Serra Auto Plaza, was the top selling Buick dealership in the North Central Region for 2009. Buick officials Mark Haener and Brian Erne were in Grand Blanc to present a plaque recognizing the accomplishment.

“We commend Al Serra Buick for the tremendous job they did serving our Buick customers in 2009,” said Zone Manager Mark Haener. “After spending time with the Al Serra team, it’s easy to see why they are successful. Their energy and enthusiasm for our product is incredible.”
